What does “Humane Technology” mean?
Well, first understand what we have going on today from the Center for Humane Technology: “powerful technology platforms operate under perverse profit incentives that fuel growth at all costs. The negative externalities of a “growth at all costs” operating paradigm have spilled into all aspects of our lives. Countless communities are reckoning with growing wealth inequality, declining mental health, catastrophic impacts of climate change, and entrenched systems driven by those with power exploiting those without, for example based on religion, age, race, gender, where we live (urban vs. rural), or physical ability. All the while, misinformation spreads and distrust in institutions associated with science, medicine, and law grows. We are losing our shared sense of reality and our ability to address the challenges we face. ………More than ever, we need technology that builds—rather than undermines—our capacity to face complex threats and fosters a healthy, thriving society for future generations. “ This is the inspiration for Healthy4All: technology for the benefit of the user of that technology. Helping users to what they want to do-live a longer, healthier life.
